Marwan Rahiki is scheduled to face JooSang Yoo in a featherweight matchup when the Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Sydney in February. Sources close to the booking confirmed the matchup to MMA Junkie on the condition of anonymity because the organization has not yet officially announced the fight.

Event Details and Fighter Backgrounds

UFC Sydney is set to take place on Feb. 6 at Afterpay Arena. The fight card will be headlined by a lightweight bout featuring Australian rising star Quillan Salkilld against Benoit Saint Denis. While Rahiki was born in Morocco, he currently completes his training camp in Sydney.

Rahiki earned his spot on the UFC roster via Dana White’s Contender Series with a second-round knockout victory a year ago. He experienced an active first year with the promotion, starting with a second-round technical knockout in March that earned him a 100,000-dollar bonus. He followed that performance with a knockout win over Ollie Schmid in May.

Recent Bouts and Career Records

Rahiki suffered the first defeat of his professional career in September, dropping a unanimous decision to rising star Tommy McMillen. Despite the setback—which also marked the first time one of his bouts went to the judges’ scorecards—he collected another 100,000-dollar bonus for Fight of the Night.

Yoo entered his promotional debut at UFC 316 in June 2025 with an undefeated record and secured a performance bonus by knocking out Jeka Saragih in 28 seconds. However, he suffered the first loss of his career four months later when Daniel Santos knocked him out. Following a nearly year-long layoff, Yoo returned in September and lost a split decision to Michael Aswell Jr. at UFC 331.
