Pedro Acosta Secures Monster Energy Personal Sponsorship

MotoGP rider Pedro Acosta has officially secured Monster Energy as a personal sponsor. The announcement was made via a social media video featuring a shark-themed logo and the rider’s name, released just before the Qatar Grand Prix weekend.

Transitioning from Red Bull to Monster Energy

This new agreement marks a significant shift for Acosta, who has been associated with Red Bull for the past six years. Throughout his tenure with the KTM factory racing program, the Spaniard competed under the Red Bull banner across various world championship categories, including three seasons in the premier class.

Acosta’s history with the brand began in 2019 when he finished as the runner-up in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, followed by a title win in 2020. He progressed to the Moto3 World Championship in 2021 with the Ajo KTM Red Bull team, securing the title before moving to Moto2 in 2022, where he claimed another championship with 14 podium finishes and seven victories. In 2024, he debuted in MotoGP with the Tech 3 KTM Red Bull satellite team before transitioning to the factory squad.

Despite his long-standing relationship with the manufacturer, Red Bull was never Acosta’s personal sponsor. During his time at KTM, he was required to display the manufacturer’s partners on his gear, including his helmet, cap, and leathers, as part of his contract with the team.

Future Alignment with Ducati

The move to sign with Monster Energy is tied to Acosta’s upcoming switch to Ducati for the 2027 season. Monster Energy currently holds a sponsorship agreement with the Ducati team that runs through the end of 2027. Once that contract expires, both the rider and the Italian manufacturer will need to reassess their sponsorship arrangements.

At Ducati, Acosta will join Marc Marquez, who also had to relinquish his long-term personal sponsorship with Red Bull to facilitate his move to the Bologna-based team. While there has been speculation that Red Bull could potentially partner with Ducati in two years, no official confirmation regarding such a deal has been provided.
