As the NFL trade deadline approaches on Nov. 10, star running back Jonathan Taylor has drawn significant interest from teams across the league. Following recent roster moves by the Indianapolis Colts that led many observers to anticipate a complete team rebuild, the future of the star runner has become a major focal point.

Trade Inquiries and Team Stance

CBS Sports reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala reported on Sunday that the Colts are receiving inquiries regarding Taylor following recent trades involving key veterans. Kinkhabwala stated that team leadership assured her they are not soliciting offers for the running back and are not actively seeking to move him.

Kinkhabwala added that Taylor held a meeting this week with owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon to discuss his future with the franchise. During the discussion, Irsay-Gordon reportedly did not provide guarantees that he would remain with the team, while Taylor reaffirmed his commitment to the organization.

Recent Roster Moves and Trade Value

Earlier in the week, the Colts traded Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a 2027 third-round draft pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick. The team also sent DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2027 fourth-round selection. Analysts note that any potential trade package for Taylor would likely require a substantially higher return given his position as one of the premier running backs in the NFL, indicating that the organization would require an exceptional offer to consider a deal.

Career Background and Interested Teams

Taylor, who was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin, has spent his entire seven-year professional career with Indianapolis. During the previous season, the 27-year-old led the league with 18 rushing touchdowns and surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the fourth time. Heading into Week 8, he has accumulated 587 rushing yards alongside a league-leading eight rushing touchdowns.

ESPN reported on Saturday that several franchises have expressed interest in acquiring Taylor, including the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks.
