The PGA Tour is returning to Austin for the first time since the 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. This brand-new tournament introduces 72 holes of stroke play to the Hill Country.
Tournament Details and Field Lineup
The inaugural Austin Championship presented by Compliance Solutions is scheduled for November 12-15 on the Fazio Canyons Course at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. Serving as the penultimate event of the FedExCup Fall, the competition boasts a $6 million purse.
Austin Smotherman enters the tournament having secured two victories this fall, leading a player field that features Max Homa, Billy Horschel, Brian Harman, Lucas Glover, Matt Kuchar, and rookie Jackson Koivun.
Five former University of Texas players will also compete just a short drive away from their former campus. The Longhorn alumni in the field include Pierceson Coody, Doug Ghim, Beau Hossler, Christiaan Maas, and Tommy Morrison, with Maas and Morrison taking two of the four available sponsor exemptions.
Competitors in the initial field are fighting to finish inside the top 100 in FedExCup points to secure their Tour cards for 2027, with four remaining spots still open for qualifiers.
