Vikings Elevate DeeJay Dallas Ahead of Lions Matchup

The Minnesota Vikings have finalized their roster preparations ahead of Sunday’s NFC North matchup against the Detroit Lions by promoting running back DeeJay Dallas from the practice squad to the game-day roster.

Practice Squad Elevation Limit Reached

The transaction represents the third time this season that Minnesota has elevated Dallas from its practice squad. Because NFL rules permit a maximum of three standard practice squad elevations per player in a season, the Vikings will need to sign Dallas to their full 53-man roster if they intend to utilize him in any subsequent games. His earlier elevations occurred during the season opener against the Green Bay Packers and last week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Dallas has been part of the Vikings’ organization across all seven of the team’s contests this year. In addition to his three game-day elevations, he spent four weeks on the active 53-man roster. Minnesota originally signed him to the active roster after placing running back Jordan Mason on injured reserve due to a thumb injury following the opening game. When Mason returned to action before the Colts matchup, the Vikings released Dallas and promptly re-signed him to their practice squad.

Through seven games this season, Dallas has recorded three rushing attempts for 10 yards along with four catches for 34 yards. The elevation completes the team’s player movements ahead of their Week 8 divisional clash.
