Green Bay Packers edge-rusher Micah Parsons is projected to return to practice next week, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, following a long recovery from a torn left ACL and meniscus sustained last December.
Coaching Stance and Practice Window
ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky noted that while weekly inquiries to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur regarding Parsons’ practice timeline previously met with firm refusals, LaFleur adopted an optimistic tone on Tuesday when asked if the star defender might return to the field the following week, responding that he certainly hopes so.
Parsons currently remains on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. Once he resumes practicing, the team will have a 21-day window to evaluate him before deciding whether to elevate him to the active 53-man roster or shut him down for the 2026 season, though activation is widely anticipated.
Background and Postseason Hopes
Parsons arrived in Green Bay via a trade from the Dallas Cowboys just prior to the 2025 season. Before suffering the knee injuries against the Denver Broncos, he recorded 12.5 sacks and 27 quarterback hits across 14 games.
Recognized as a three-time First Team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler, Parsons ranks among the premier defensive talents of the decade. With Green Bay expected to contend for a playoff spot throughout the year, his eventual return serves as a vital component of the team’s aspirations for a deep postseason run.
Following a matchup against the New England Patriots on Sunday, November 8, and a home game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, November 15, the Packers will enter their bye week. This schedule theoretically allows Green Bay to utilize two weeks of practice prior to the bye before potentially activating Parsons ahead of a November 25 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
