The Indianapolis Colts have traded All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a third-round draft pick and a fifth-round pick, according to a person with knowledge of the agreement.

Trade Details and Nelson’s Status

The source spoke on the condition of anonymity because the two teams had not yet officially announced the transaction. Nelson, who is 30 years old and an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, is eligible to become a free agent in March. He had previously kept his future plans private while focusing on concluding the current campaign strongly.

Recent Changes for the Colts

This transaction marks the second major roster adjustment in two weeks for the struggling Indianapolis franchise. The Colts currently hold a 2-5 record after dropping three consecutive contests and 12 of their previous 14 matchups overall. Following a home defeat against the previously winless Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis dismissed general manager Chris Ballard last week, with assistant general manager Ed Dodds stepping in on an interim basis.

Career Background and Upcoming Schedules

Selected sixth overall in the 2018 draft, Nelson earned All-Pro honors in his debut season alongside linebacker Darius Leonard. That achievement marked the first time rookie teammates earned All-Pro recognition since Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus accomplished the feat with the Chicago Bears in 1965. Nelson maintained his All-Pro status consecutively from 2018 through 2020.

Looking ahead to their upcoming schedules, the Colts are set to travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars on Sunday, while the Seahawks prepare to host the Chicago Bears on Monday night.
