New York Islanders defenseman Logan Stanley has received a fine of $3,586.98 for slashing New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier during Saturday’s game. The incident occurred in the second period of a 5-4 overtime loss for the Islanders.
Previous Discipline and Career Context
This penalty marks the second time in Stanley’s professional career that he has faced supplementary discipline from the NHL Department of Player Safety. Previously, he served a one-game suspension for roughing Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk on January 3.
Stanley joined the Islanders on September 27 by signing a one-year contract worth $1.5 million. He has spent time playing primarily alongside Matthew Schaefer on the top defensive pairing while also logging important minutes on the penalty kill.
