New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson revealed that a series of unexplained neurological symptoms, which required him to be hospitalized, are the cause of his current absence from the team.
Medical Emergency and Hospitalization
The 24-year-old player was added to the team’s injury report on October 29 due to an illness and subsequently sat out last weekend’s victory over the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots have confirmed that Henderson did not participate in practice ahead of Sunday’s upcoming fixture against the Green Bay Packers, a match he is expected to miss.
In a statement shared on social media, Henderson detailed the sudden health scare. “Recently, I experienced an unexpected and unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that required hospitalisation for several days,” he stated.
Henderson added that he underwent extensive medical testing and evaluation during his hospital stay. “While the results of my comprehensive medical testing have come back positive and reassuring, the cause of this remains unknown and unexplainable,” he explained.
Recovery and Season Statistics
The running back noted that the condition has impacted his physical capabilities. “I will continue working closely with specialists and physical therapists to focus on my recovery, as these symptoms have affected my strength, co-ordination, and some of my physical functions,” he said.
Stating that he is focused on getting better, Henderson emphasized his commitment to his health. “I am committed to doing everything necessary to return to full health. My health and long-term wellbeing remain my foremost priorities,” he remarked.
Prior to his absence, Henderson appeared in six games for the Patriots during the current season, carrying the ball 52 times for 203 yards and scoring one touchdown.
