Fresh off winning their first World Series title, the Milwaukee Brewers continued their celebrations on Thursday night by bringing the Commissioner’s Trophy to Lambeau Field during the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Carolina Panthers.
Lambeau Leap and Suite Celebrations
Pitcher Brandon Woodruff led his teammates onto the field during the first half of the Thursday Night Football matchup, drawing loud cheers from the Green Bay crowd as players emerged from the tunnel clapping and energizing the stadium. Right fielder Sal Frelick joined in a famous Packers tradition by executing a Lambeau Leap into the stands, where fans surrounded him in celebration.
The Brewers roster was later featured on the stadium’s video board while sitting inside an executive suite. Players wore traditional cheesehead hats marked with the word “champion,” with Frelick once again raising his arms to hype up the fans when the camera turned toward him. The home team went into halftime holding a 20-10 advantage over the Panthers.
The franchise captured its inaugural championship on Wednesday with a 5-1 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5 in Tampa. The victory festivities are scheduled to move to Milwaukee on Friday, where the city will host an official parade for the team.
