Louis Kimber Extends Northamptonshire Deal Until 2028

Northamptonshire all-rounder Louis Kimber has signed a one-year contract extension that keeps him at the county until the conclusion of the 2028 season.

Joining Northants and Recent Performance

The 29-year-old moved to the club from Leicestershire last year, making 17 appearances across the County Championship and the T20 Blast, a tournament Northamptonshire captured in July.

Kimber recorded a top score of 66 during a victory against Gloucestershire in May, bringing his career first-class run total to 1,685.

Reflecting on the team’s recent accomplishments, Kimber stated on the club’s website that winning the Blast was a remarkable feat that intensified their desire for further triumphs.

He added that he looks forward to resuming training, developing his skills further, and delivering greater achievements for the team.

Coaching Expectations for the Future

Although Kimber managed only one wicket and accumulated 175 runs during his debut campaign with Northants, head coach Darren Lehmann remains confident in his potential.

Lehmann noted that while the player may not have experienced the exact season he desired, he possesses the talent to significantly impact the team.

The head coach concluded by expressing eagerness to watch Kimber demonstrate his abilities in the upcoming year.
