Fanatics unveiled the new Hometown Remix jerseys, featuring a design for the Montreal Canadiens that closely matches recent leaks with solid red numbers instead of white with a red outline for better visibility on television and in the stands. The new look divided the fan base, with some supporters criticizing the prominent white sections and the absence of a red Canadiens logo, while others praised the clean aesthetic.
Goaltenders Reveal Custom Masks
The Canadiens are scheduled to debut the alternate uniforms when they host the Winnipeg Jets, marking the first of 10 scheduled appearances for the new jerseys this season. The uniform change prompted the team’s goaltenders to design matching equipment, including new masks created in collaboration with Sylabrush.
Jacob Fowler will wear a helmet that builds upon his previous Iron Man concept, incorporating illustrations of the Montreal skyline and the Olympic Stadium alongside his “Gator” nickname. The backplate displays a Quebec license plate, lyrics from a song, and the municipal symbols featured on both the city flag and the new jerseys.
Fellow goaltender Jakub Dobes designed his mask with the “Doby” nickname written in a font inspired by Game of Thrones, accompanied by an image of Jon Snow’s direwolf, Ghost. His helmet also displays icicles, the modified team logo from the Hometown Remix jersey, municipal flag symbols, Fleur-de-lis, and the phrase “Ole Ole Ole” on the backplate.
The organization plans to wear the new jersey design 10 times throughout the current campaign, giving fans and players alike regular opportunities to see how the alternative uniform and matching equipment are received in the stands.
