Michel Pereira has secured his next fighting opportunity following his departure from the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The veteran fighter is set to square off against In Su Hwang in a middleweight contest at Z-Fight Night 5, scheduled for Dec. 19 in Incheon, South Korea. The ZFN promotion is spearheaded by former UFC standout Chan Sung Jung, widely recognized as “The Korean Zombie.”
Career Background and Recent Bouts
Pereira enters this upcoming matchup holding a professional record of 32 wins, 15 losses, and 2 no-contests. He fulfilled his standard UFC contract back in February before inking a one-fight agreement to battle Sharabutdin Magomedov at UFC Baku in June. Following a unanimous decision loss in that encounter, the Brazilian athlete transitioned into unrestricted free agency, having dropped four of his final five appearances inside the Octagon.
His opponent, Hwang, brings a 9-2 record into the event. The South Korean competitor previously attempted to secure a UFC contract through Dana White’s Contender Series last year, though that bid was unsuccessful. He later bounced back by securing a victory via technical knockout in the third round this past May.
