Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany left the hospital on Wednesday after being admitted following a collapse during a training session on Friday.
Hospital Discharge and Medical Update
Max Eberl, the director of sport for Bayern Munich, spoke to German broadcaster ARD on Wednesday to share the positive update. Eberl stated that the manager is doing well under the circumstances and that his discharge is the greatest news for everyone at the club. He explained that a meningeal irritation triggered the incident at the end of the week. Kompany will now focus on resting and taking medication, with Eberl expressing confidence that the coach will return to the touchline at full strength very soon.
Reporting by BILD indicates that Kompany will remain away from the club until the conclusion of the international break on November 17th. In the club’s initial statement on Friday, Eberl emphasized that the manager’s health remains the absolute priority and that the organization will provide every possible resource for a complete recovery. While Kompany recovers, his coaching staff will manage his responsibilities, with the club expressing full confidence in their ability to step in.
Coaching Tenure and Upcoming Match
Kompany took over as the head coach of Bayern Munich in May 2024 and currently holds a 91-19-12 record with the team. The squad prepares to face Borussia Dortmund in their next fixture on Saturday.
