The St. Louis Cardinals fan community site Viva El Birdos is searching for a new baseball writer to join its team. An upcoming opening has been created because a staff member must step back due to family responsibilities.
Requirements for the Writing Position
Candidates must possess a deep passion for the St. Louis Cardinals, though agreement with ownership, management, and team decisions is not required. Writers must understand deadline importance and follow through to deliver unique content weekly throughout the year, including the off-season. Additionally, applicants need at least a basic understanding of WordPress, though no prior professional writing experience is necessary.
The role involves analyzing roster construction, minor league prospects, trade targets, and second-guessing decisions made by management, ownership, and the President of Baseball Operations. While this is a part-time paid position, the compensation is modest.
Application Process and Next Steps
Interested individuals can email the publication directly to introduce themselves. The editorial team hopes to have the new contributor ready to begin work in December.
