Seahawks to Start Quenton Nelson at Left Guard Monday

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed that the team will not change Quenton Nelson’s position when he takes the field for his debut.

Position Changes on the Offensive Line

Nelson spent his entire career playing left guard with the Colts, and Macdonald announced at a Thursday press conference that the player will stay at that position in Seattle. Grey Zabel previously started at left guard, but he will transition to the right side of the line, while Anthony Bradford shifts into a backup role.

Macdonald additionally confirmed that the Seahawks intend to give Nelson his first game snaps with the franchise against the Bears on Monday night.

Familiar Matchup in Seattle Debut

Nelson might face a familiar opponent during his first game with the Seahawks. The Bears acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons in a trade on Thursday, and the two competitors faced each other multiple times while competing in the AFC South, which included the Titans’ victory over the Colts earlier in the season.
