Angela Hill is scheduled for her 31st UFC appearance, returning to action on December 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. She will put her strawweight ranking on the line against rising contender Shanelle Dyer at UFC 335.
Recordholder and Career Journey
Multiple sources confirmed the matchup to Heavy.com following an initial report by MMA Junkie. Hill currently holds the No. 14 spot in the UFC Media rankings, while remaining unranked in the Meta rankings. Her opponent, Dyer, enters just her third UFC bout with an opportunity to break directly into the rankings.
Hill has competed in the promotion since 2014 and holds numerous records in the Women’s Strawweight division. After entering The Ultimate Fighter Season 20 with a 1-0 record, she lost to eventual winner Carla Esparza before winning her official debut against Emily Kagan. Following two consecutive losses in 2015, she was cut from the promotion, but returned after capturing four straight wins and a title at Invicta FC. Although she has not reached the very top of the division, she has remained a consistent mainstay in the top 15.
Hill experienced her best UFC run between 2022 and 2024, winning four out of five fights, with her only defeat in that span coming against current champion Mackenzie Dern in her lone main event appearance. Last year, she opened with a victory over Ketlen Souza before dropping bouts to Iasmin Lucindo and Fatima Kline. In her most recent outing, the 41-year-old secured a victory against former ONE Championship champion Xiong Jingnan and aims to close out 2026 on a two-fight winning streak.
New Blood and Rising Challenger
Shanelle Dyer is 16 years younger than Hill and competed primarily as an amateur in her native England, securing multiple titles before turning professional in 2023. Following two regional knockout wins, she signed with the PFL and won three consecutive bouts in the PFL Europe tournament, though an injury prevented her from competing in the finale. Last year, she received a call to the UFC Contender Series to face Carol Foro, suffering her first professional defeat via unanimous decision in an entertaining bout.
UFC President Dana White praised the contest and ultimately awarded two contracts. Dyer made her promotional debut earlier this year in England, finishing Ravena Oliveira in the second round to claim a Performance of the Night bonus. She followed that up with a third-round TKO victory over Elise Reed, setting up a major step up in competition against Hill.
UFC 335 Fight Card Lineup
The event in Las Vegas features several notable matchups alongside Hill versus Dyer. Charles Oliveira is slated to face Diego Lopes, and Sergei Pavlovich meets Alex Pereira. The card also includes Brandon Moreno against Charles Johnson, Maycee Barber versus Carli Judice, Chase Hooper against Chris Padilla, Ronald Humphrey versus Nikolay Veretennikov, and Quentin Pasley squaring off against Junior Tafa, as originally reported by Heavy.
