The latest Week 8 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings for the 2026 season feature a shift at the top, with a new quarterback taking over the number one spot and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sliding out of the top 10.
Shifts in the Week 8 QB Rankings
As reported by CBS Sports, the weekly rankings track the fluid performances of starting quarterbacks throughout the regular season. The latest update saw significant movement across the board, with some players rising by as many as six positions, while others fell by up to seven spots.
Mahomes experienced the largest drop entering Week 8. Though he would typically hold the top ranking under normal circumstances, he has been absent from the top spot for several weeks following a torn ACL alongside strong performances from other quarterbacks across the league. Despite the drop, CBS Sports noted that Mahomes could climb back up the board as the 2026 season continues.
