The Milwaukee Brewers have updated their player roster and transaction ledger following a series of late-season moves and preliminary offseason decisions. As of early November 2026, the club’s active personnel structure consists of 18 pitchers, three catchers, six infielders, and six outfielders.
Offseason Option Decisions and Free Agency Roster Shifts
Milwaukee began addressing its roster options shortly after the conclusion of the season. The organization accepted its club option for catcher William Contreras, keeping the veteran behind the plate. Conversely, the team declined its club option for right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela, while catcher Gary Sánchez saw his mutual option declined, allowing both players to enter free agency.
Right-handed pitcher Dustin May declined his side of a mutual option to become an unrestricted free agent. In addition, right-hander Brandon Woodruff, first baseman Jake Bauers, and left-handed reliever JoJo Romero elected free agency. The team also assigned right-hander Bryse Wilson, left-hander Jared Koenig, and outfielder Akil Baddoo outright to Triple-A Nashville, after which Baddoo was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Current Position Breakdown
The Brewers’ current pitching staff includes 18 arms: Grant Anderson, Aaron Ashby, Coleman Crow, Shane Drohan, Brian Fitzpatrick, Robert Gasser, Colton Gordon, DL Hall, Kyle Harrison, Logan Henderson, Trevor Megill, Jacob Misiorowski, Chad Patrick, Quinn Priester, Brandon Sproat, Garrett Stallings, Abner Uribe, and Ángel Zerpa.
Behind the plate, Contreras is joined by catchers Bo Naylor and Jeferson Quero. The infield features six options: Tyler Black, David Hamilton, Joey Ortiz, Cooper Pratt, Brice Turang, and Andrew Vaughn. The outfield group is anchored by veteran Christian Yelich alongside Jackson Chourio, Sal Frelick, Luis Lara, Brandon Lockridge, and Garrett Mitchell.
Contract Extensions and Key Acquisitions
The updated ledger reflects several long-term commitments and major trades completed by the front office over recent seasons. In April 2026, Milwaukee signed shortstop Cooper Pratt to an eight-year contract before placing him on the roster track. Outfielder Luis Lara also agreed to a long-term deal, signing a seven-year contract in June 2026.
Notable trade acquisitions featured in the current lineup include pitchers Kyle Harrison and Shane Drohan, along with infielder David Hamilton, acquired from the Boston Red Sox. Right-hander Brandon Sproat joined the organization via a multi-player deal with the New York Mets that sent Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers to New York. Middle-season acquisitions such as Bo Naylor from Cleveland further altered the team’s depth chart.
Milwaukee will continue managing player placement across its 40-man roster and injury lists as front-office personnel navigate additional contract decisions and roster additions throughout the offseason.
