Jonathan Taylor Trade Rumors: Colts Eye McCaffrey Value

Jonathan Taylor Trade Rumors: Colts Eye McCaffrey Value

The Indianapolis Colts are utilizing the 2022 trade of Christian McCaffrey as a general baseline for potential deals involving star running back Jonathan Taylor, according to reporting by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Trade Compensation and Discussions

Schefter reported that the Colts would seek a compensation package similar to the one the Carolina Panthers received from the San Francisco 49ers. That previous deal required the 49ers to send second-, third-, and fourth-round picks in the 2023 NFL draft, along with a fifth-rounder in 2024, to Carolina.

In addition to trade valuations, Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Taylor participated in an in-depth conversation with Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon to discuss his current standing with the franchise. Irsay-Gordon maintains an affinity for the three-time Pro Bowler, and the organization’s preference is for Taylor to remain part of their ongoing roster rebuild.

Interested Teams

Sources indicated to Schefter that several NFL franchises have expressed varying levels of interest in trading for Taylor. The list of interested parties includes the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Giants.

Additional information and analysis regarding the trade situation will be provided in future updates.
