Jalen Suggs Sidelined with Bone Bruise in Knee

Orlando Magic point guard Jalen Suggs will miss at least two weeks with a mild bone bruise in his right knee. The team announced the timeline on Monday after Suggs suffered the injury late in Sunday’s 111-102 victory against the New York Knicks.

Injury Details and Coach Reaction

According to Vincent Goodwill of ESPN, Suggs sustained an apparent noncontact right knee injury with 2:09 left in the fourth quarter and required assistance to leave the court. Magic head coach Sean Sweeney did not provide a postgame update beyond mentioning that the player would undergo evaluation.

The incident occurred as Suggs drove on a fast-break layup attempt and his right knee appeared to give out. He stayed down on the court in visible pain for several minutes before team personnel helped him walk slowly to the locker room.

Sweeney mentioned that he spoke briefly with Suggs following the contest, noting that the 25-year-old maintained a positive attitude.

Impact on the Magic Lineup

Suggs has struggled with durability, playing only 92 total games over the past two seasons due to multiple injuries. This latest absence compounds early-season roster challenges for Orlando, which also lost star forward Paolo Banchero to a low-grade high ankle sprain projected to keep him out for several weeks.

Anthony Black is expected to step into the starting point guard role in place of Suggs. The 22-year-old contributed 18 points and five assists during his season debut on Sunday.

The Magic, holding a 1-2 record, will proceed with their road trip by facing the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
