Joselyne Edwards Named Backup for Harrison vs. Nunes at UFC 334

Joselyne Edwards is reportedly in line to potentially fight for Ultimate Fighting Championship gold at UFC 334. Kayla Harrison is scheduled to defend her bantamweight title against UFC Hall of Famer Amanda Nunes in the co-main event on Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York, with Edwards stepping in as the backup fighter, as reported by sports.yahoo.com.

Edwards Prepares as Replacement

As reported by Guilherme Cruz, Edwards will weigh in as a potential replacement should either Harrison or Nunes be unable to compete. The Panamanian fighter enters the assignment riding a five-fight winning streak, which features four victories by stoppage. In her most recent outing, she earned a unanimous decision win against Norma Dumont.

Before putting together her current run of victories, Edwards compiled a 4-4 record through her first eight appearances inside the Octagon. Meanwhile, Nunes initially retired in 2023 before organizing a return against her former American Top Team teammate Harrison at UFC 324 in January. That matchup was later postponed after Harrison sustained a neck injury that necessitated surgery.
