Caroline Wozniacki and her husband David Lee dressed up as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for a Halloween party in Miami. The former World No. 1 women’s tennis icon shared a picture of her and Lee’s elaborate Halloween party costumes and drew reactions from both tennis fans as well as players past and present.
Wozniacki Shares Swift and Kelce Costume on Instagram
On Wednesday, October 28, Wozniacki took to her Instagram and shared three pictures. While the first of them featured the Danish former WTA star and her American former NBA icon husband in their Swift and Kelce-inspired look, the two others were solo pictures of an all-smiles Wozniacki. The 2018 Australian Open champion, tagging both Swift and Kelce, captioned her post asking how they did.
Unsurprisingly, reactions came thick and fast in the comments. One fan playfully wrote that Taylor does not have that backhand, while another added that Wozniacki reminded them of Swift back when she was first coming up as a 17-year-old in 2008.
Croatian WTA star Donna Vekic, a former World No. 17, told Wozniacki that bangs would suit her. American former ATP star Sam Querrey, who reached a career-high ranking of No. 11 during his playing days, humorously asked who they were. Tracy Austin, the American former WTA No. 1, weighed in to say that they aced it and called it epic.
Looking Back at Wozniacki’s Career Status
Despite not retiring formally, Caroline Wozniacki suggested last year that her playing career is very likely done and dusted. In January 2020, Caroline Wozniacki ended her tennis career citing her desire to start a family with Lee and manage her rheumatoid arthritis. Three years and two kids later, the Dane made a surprise comeback to the WTA Tour, with her career highlights following her return being her fourth-round finishes at the US Open in 2023 and 2024.
Last year, she paused her playing career after announcing her third pregnancy. Months after giving birth to her and Lee’s third child, she made a special appearance on the Nothing Major podcast, which is co-hosted by Querrey alongside other American former ATP stars John Isner, Jack Sock and Steve Johnson. Here, she suggested that in all likelihood, her playing career is over, noting that with three small children, it is already a full-time job.
Apart from the 2018 Australian Open, Wozniacki won 29 WTA Tour-level titles, including the 2017 WTA Finals.
