Harry Kane missed a penalty as Borussia Dortmund secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker, while AC Milan claimed a 3-1 derby victory over Inter Milan.

Bundesliga Drama in Der Klassiker

Harry Kane stepped onto the Allianz Arena pitch holding the Ballon d’Or before kick-off after receiving football’s most prestigious individual award earlier in the week. Jobe Bellingham appeared to open the scoring for Dortmund in the 34th minute, but the effort was disallowed for offside. Bayern claimed the lead four minutes later when Konrad Laimer scored on the rebound after Gregor Kobel blocked his initial shot.

Kane was awarded a golden opportunity to double the lead after Felix Nmecha handled the ball in the penalty area, but the England captain’s spot-kick struck the crossbar. Dortmund capitalized on the miss when striker Serhou Guirassy fired home from close range. Kane partially made up for his earlier error by heading Joshua Kimmich’s cross across the goal for Dayot Upamecano to tap in and restore Bayern’s advantage.

However, Kane missed another clear chance to seal the match by hitting the post with an empty net in front of him. Fabio Silva punished that wastefulness by scoring an 89th-minute angled shot past Manuel Neuer to earn a draw. The result leaves Dortmund level on points with Bayern at the summit of the Bundesliga.

Freiburg sit two points behind the leading pair in third place after recovering from a deficit to beat Augsburg 2-1, with Cyriaque Irie netting the winner five minutes from time. RB Leipzig claimed fourth place with a 2-0 victory at Schalke, while Stuttgart defeated Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 thanks to a double from Ermedin Demirovic. Werder Bremen moved above Leverkusen into fifth by beating Hoffenheim 2-0, whereas bottom-placed Borussia Monchengladbach extended their winless start with a 0-0 draw against Paderborn.

AC Milan Claims Derby Spoils

AC Milan secured their fourth consecutive derby victory over rivals Inter Milan with a 3-1 win, built upon an outstanding first-half performance. Christian Pulisic headed in a cross from Diego Moreira in the fourth minute to put the Rossoneri ahead, celebrating his new contract with his fourth goal in eight matches against Inter.

Adrien Rabiot doubled the lead six minutes later with a delicate dinked finish from a Moreira corner. Alessandro Bastoni narrowed the deficit for Inter by heading home from Manuel Akanji’s flick-on following a set-piece. Moreira restored Milan’s two-goal advantage before halftime with a brilliant curling free-kick that proved decisive.

Inter’s loss gives Lazio the opportunity to establish a three-point lead at the top of Serie A when they face Cagliari. Meanwhile, Roma sit one point behind the leaders after thrashing Udinese 5-2 away from home. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side established a commanding lead through a first-half blitz with goals from Bryan Cristante, Rodrigo Mora, Donyell Malen, and Evan Ndicka. In another Serie A fixture, Bologna defeated Monza 2-1.

Atletico Madrid Pressure Barcelona

Atletico Madrid briefly claimed top spot in LaLiga following a 2-0 victory at Levante. After Morten Hjulmand had a goal overturned for offside by VAR, Alejandro Grimaldo opened the scoring with his fourth league goal of the campaign. Giuliano Simeone sealed the victory with a composed finish from Alex Baena’s pass, though Barcelona subsequently reclaimed first place by thrashing Alaves 6-1.

Real Betis maintained their strong start to the season by defeating Malaga 2-1, and Rayo Vallecano halted a three-game winless streak with a 3-0 victory against Celta Vigo.
