Liverpool are weighing up a potential move for Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen amid growing uncertainty regarding the future of Alisson Becker, according to press reports cited by BBC Sport.
Liverpool explore goalkeeping and defensive options
The Reds are assessing 24-year-old Netherlands international Verbruggen as 34-year-old Alisson enters the final year of his deal at Anfield next summer. Liverpool are also tracking 19-year-old Brighton centre-back Luka Vuskovic as they look to identify a long-term successor for 35-year-old team captain Virgil van Dijk.
At the same time, Bayern Munich are maintaining dialog with the management of 18-year-old Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, eyeing a potential transfer during the summer window. Outgoings could also involve Jeremie Frimpong, who has reportedly been offered to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal only 18 months after joining Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in a £29.5 million deal.
Premier League rivals target options across Europe
Both Chelsea and Liverpool are following Brentford’s 21-year-old Senegalese left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf. Meanwhile, Chelsea may attempt to initiate contract extension discussions with 23-year-old defender Levi Colwill—despite his active contract running until 2029—as Barcelona consider submitting a transfer bid in January.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Conor Gallagher is drawing attention from Crystal Palace, Everton, and Leeds United, though Spurs remain hesitant to allow the 26-year-old England international to leave. Across town, Manchester United scouts have submitted favorable reports on Rennes’ 21-year-old Cameroonian left-back Mahamadou Nagida.
