Real Madrid continued their impressive run of form with a 3-0 victory over Valencia at Mestalla, extending their winning streak under manager Jose Mourinho. The commanding win brought Los Blancos level with Barcelona at the top of the La Liga standings.
First Half Action and Early Chances
As reported by 101 Great Goals, the match began with Diomande lively down the left wing for the hosts, driving into the penalty area and forcing goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski to gather an attempted cross. Valencia nearly capitalized on a mistake in the 18th minute when Aurelien Tchouameni lost possession near his own penalty area. Aaron Mayol seized the opportunity to shoot, but goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois produced an excellent save to keep the match scoreless.
The home side thought they had broken the deadlock shortly after when Guido Rodriguez found the back of the net, but the midfielder was flagged offside. Real Madrid responded by raising the tempo and capitalized on their dominance in the 28th minute. Following a free-kick, Federico Valverde collected the ball outside the penalty area and fired a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.
Arda Guler doubled the visitors’ advantage in the 36th minute, leaving Javier Aguirre’s team facing a steep challenge against an increasingly confident opponent.
Second Half Control and Closing Goals
Real Madrid maintained control after the interval as Kylian Mbappe continually stretched the Valencia defence. During a counter-attack, the French forward raced into space and attempted to lift the ball over Dimitrievski, but the goalkeeper recovered to make a crucial save. Dimitrievski was called upon again later to deny Mbappe, who could have added more to the scoreline on another evening.
Valencia struggled to create opportunities against an organized Madrid backline, where Konate delivered a well-timed challenge to stop Umar Sadiq from advancing into the penalty area. Mbappe ultimately secured the result in the second half, putting the game out of reach and sealing the 3-0 scoreline.
