Tiger Woods and his former wife, Elin Nordegren, reunited on Friday to celebrate their son Charlie’s college golf commitment. Charlie, the son of the 15-time major champion, announced earlier this year that he will play golf at Florida State University. The family gathered at Charlie’s high school to mark the milestone following his announcement in February.
Family Celebration and Past Divorce
Tiger and Elin were together at the high school event, marking a rare joint appearance years after their high-profile divorce following the exposure of Tiger’s infidelity. Charlie shared his decision online earlier this year, writing that he was excited to commit to Florida State University and using the team’s cheer. Tiger publicly congratulated his son on entering the next chapter of his life.
Tiger Woods’ Recent Arrest and Career Status
The gathering marked a rare public appearance for Tiger, who has stayed mostly out of the spotlight following his arrest in March. As detailed in an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, Martin County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested him on DUI charges after a car crash, subsequently finding hydrocodone pills in his pocket. It marked his second DUI in less than ten years.
Prior to conducting field sobriety tests, Tiger informed law enforcement that he had undergone seven back surgeries and more than 20 operations on his leg, adding that he takes a few prescription medications. Deputies noted signs of impairment at the scene, reporting that the golfer was sweating profusely with slow movements. The deputy administering the tests observed that his eyes appeared bloodshot, glassy, and extremely dilated.
Nordegren was reportedly concerned following the arrest, and Tiger announced he was seeking treatment shortly afterward. His return to competitive golf remains uncertain, as he has not played since the 2024 Open Championship and missed the entire 2026 season after missing the Masters in April.
