Derrick Henry Speaks Out on NFL Trade Rumors With Ravens

Following a heavy defeat and a four-game losing streak, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry addressed speculation surrounding his future prior to the upcoming trade deadline. The team has suffered three consecutive losses by at least 22 points, raising questions about potential roster changes.

Trade Deadline Rumors and Response

Following the Ravens’ 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night, Henry spoke to reporters and was asked about his status with the organization ahead of the November 10 trade deadline.

As reported by Bleacher Report, Henry stated, “I have not mentioned me going anywhere else. I’m saying, ‘Let’s go back to work. Let’s try to get better and turn this thing around.'”

Henry’s name had not previously surfaced frequently as a trade candidate because the return of Lamar Jackson was expected to keep the Ravens in AFC playoff contention. However, Jackson’s uncertain status for the remainder of the season—following a thumb injury on his first pass attempt in a loss to the Buffalo Bills—has led to speculation that Baltimore might reconsider its plans.

Evaluations and Roster Outlook

ESPN analyst Dan Graziano identified Henry as a player to watch on the running back market as Tuesday’s trade deadline approaches. Conversely, NFL Network analyst Ian Rapoport reported on Good Morning Football that the Ravens’ trade for Jacoby Brissett makes a sell-off less likely, with the team hoping Brissett can stabilize the offense alongside a strong roster.

Beyond the quarterback situation, the Ravens have struggled to perform up to their talent level, ranking 26th in points allowed per game and having been outscored 104-33 over their last three outings. Advanced metrics place the defense 18th in both EPA per play and success rate.

Contract considerations could also influence the front office, as Henry has one year remaining on his deal after this current season. He carries a $16.3 million cap hit for next year, though trading him would yield $12 million in savings for Baltimore.

Another factor in any potential deal is the trade return value for a 32-year-old running back playing on a costly contract while averaging a career-low 3.9 yards per carry. After opening the season in Week 1 with 144 yards and three touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts, Henry has accumulated 545 yards and five touchdowns across his subsequent eight games.
