West Ham Set to Appoint Scott Parker After Sacking Nuno

West Ham United are set to name Scott Parker as their new head coach following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo, as reported by 101 Great Goals. The managerial change comes after consecutive home losses to promotion rivals Southampton and West Bromwich Albion left the club eighth in the EFL Championship table.

Board Reviews Championship Start After Relegation

Nuno initially took charge at the London Stadium in September 2025, succeeding Graham Potter with the assignment of avoiding Premier League relegation. Despite a brief uplift in form, West Ham were relegated on the final day of the season following a direct final-day showdown with Tottenham Hotspur.

Following a review of the early stages of the current Championship campaign, the West Ham board opted to terminate Nuno’s contract alongside assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa. In an official release, the club confirmed: “West Ham United can confirm that men’s first-team head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has left his position with immediate effect.” The statement added that “a change is necessary at this time in order to ensure that the club’s objectives and expectations remain on track.”

Scott Parker Targeted for Quick Transition

Parker, a 46-year-old former West Ham midfielder, has been out of work since departing Burnley at the close of last season. Over his managerial career, he has guided teams to promotion from the Championship on three separate occasions. Citing reporting from The Athletic, 101 Great Goals noted that West Ham hope to have Parker installed before their upcoming away match.

Ahead of the game against Cardiff City, squad preparations are being managed on a temporary basis by Mark Noble, Steve Potts, and Gerard Prenderville. Noble is expected to remain involved as part of Parker’s coaching setup once the appointment is finalized.
