Five-time Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby remains committed to the Las Vegas Raiders despite the team potentially seeing its playoff drought extend to five seasons, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schefter reported Sunday that the Raiders currently have no plans to trade him, and one source was unequivocal about the star player’s wishes.
Commitment to Las Vegas
Maxx absolutely does not want to leave Las Vegas under any circumstances, a source stated, noting that his hope is to remain a Raider for life, though that is not entirely in his control.
The Raiders were prepared to part ways with Crosby in the offseason, but the Baltimore Ravens backed out of a trade at the eleventh hour. Rather than feeling alienated following that saga, the 29-year-old developed a renewed sense of dedication to the organization. The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reported Saturday that Crosby viewed the unraveling of his move to Baltimore as a sign he was supposed to stay in Las Vegas.
Trade Value and Future Outlook
The proposed deal with Baltimore would have sent the No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft and a 2027 first-rounder to the Raiders, representing an excellent haul. General manager John Spytek might still be tempted if another franchise steps up and offers two first-round picks. Because the Tennessee Titans received that exact return in the Jeffery Simmons trade, the price for Crosby remains as high as it was in the spring. However, the veteran pass-rusher clearly has no intention of forcing the hand of the Las Vegas front office.
Even if the Raiders remain outside of the postseason picture, retaining a tone-setter like Crosby in the locker room provides clear benefits. His leadership can pay dividends in building the right internal culture for both the present and the future. The passion that Crosby demonstrates for the team is a trait that Spytek and coach Klint Kubiak would undoubtedly love to see emulated by the rest of the roster.
