Week 8 Fantasy football brings several opportunities as injuries to key players like Emeka Egbuka, A.J. Brown, and Carnell Tate open the door for sleeper options across the Buccaneers, Patriots, and Titans.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sleepers
With Egbuka ruled out due to a foot injury, Chris Godwin steps into consideration as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver against Atlanta. Ted Hurst and Tez Johnson are worth fliers in deeper leagues, while Cade Otton serves as a streaming tight end option for the Buccaneers. Godwin hauled in four catches for 27 yards on five targets against Carolina in Week 7, and while he has not yet scored a touchdown or reached 50 receiving yards in a game this season, he has recorded at least 10.3 PPR points in four consecutive outings against Atlanta. Hurst has reached at least six targets in two games this year, scoring 11 PPR points in one of them, whereas Johnson caught his first touchdown of the season last week while totaling two catches for 33 yards. Between the two, Hurst is the preferred lean, though both remain viable against an Atlanta defense ranked No. 11 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Otton also benefits, as Atlanta sits at No. 9 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and he has scored at least 8.6 PPR points in two of four games with Baker Mayfield this season.
New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans Options
For New England, Hunter Henry stands out as a top-five Fantasy tight end option in all leagues, having scored at least 11.2 PPR points in four straight games, including two touchdowns during that span, while facing a Miami defense ranked No. 3 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends. Eli Raridon is another viable streaming consideration in deeper leagues after scoring at least 10.7 PPR points in two of his past three outings. At receiver, Demario Douglas looks like a high-end No. 3 option following performances of at least 19.6 PPR points against Las Vegas and the Jets, despite a quiet Week 7 against Chicago where he caught three passes for 23 yards. Efton Chism III is worth a flier in deeper leagues, having tallied 10 targets, seven catches, 99 yards, and a touchdown in the two games prior to Brown returning from an ankle injury in Week 6. In Tennessee, Wan’Dale Robinson is the sole pass catcher recommended for three-receiver leagues when facing Cincinnati, as he is expected to lead the Titans in targets with Tate sidelined.
FanDuel DFS Lineup
The FanDuel DFS lineup for Week 8 features Geno Smith at quarterback ($7,000) facing the Raiders in a revenge game, where he is expected to heavily target Garrett Wilson. Running backs Javonte Williams ($7,500) and Rhamondre Stevenson ($6,500) are positioned to dominate, with Williams having scored seven touchdowns in his last five games and Stevenson facing a Miami defense ranked No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. The receiver corps includes Zay Flowers ($8,000) against a Buffalo defense ranked No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to receivers, Wilson ($7,000), and Tre Tucker ($6,100), who has logged 10 catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 19 targets over his past two games. Tight end Hunter Henry ($5,200), flex option Ja’Marr Chase ($8,700), and the Buccaneers defense ($3,900) complete the roster.
DraftKings DFS Lineup
Trevor Lawrence ($6,200) anchors the DraftKings lineup as a top choice against the Colts, who recently traded away standout defensive lineman DeForest Buckner. Lawrence is expected to look often toward tight end Brenton Strange ($4,000), with Indianapolis having allowed three touchdowns to tight ends over the past three games. The backfield features Bucky Irving ($6,400) against Atlanta and Rhamondre Stevenson ($5,600), alongside Chase Brown ($6,300), who has a favorable matchup against the Titans following their trade of Jeffery Simmons to Chicago. Receivers CeeDee Lamb ($8,100), Michael Wilson ($6,200), and Omar Cooper Jr. ($4,800) round out the offensive selections, supported by the Broncos defense ($2,300) facing Kansas City.
