Two NFL teams will debut a completely new look on Sunday as the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars take the field in their “Rivalries” uniforms for the first time. The Lions host an NFC North matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, while the Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts at home, with both games kicking off at 1 p.m. ET.
New Uniform Designs for Detroit and Jacksonville
Initially unveiled in August, the uniforms were designed through the NFL’s “Rivalries” program to reflect themes local to each franchise. The Lions collaborated with Nike to produce a “Defend the Den” uniform that features a white jersey, white pants, and a Honolulu blue helmet. According to the team, the blue helmet features “Carbon fiber within the decals texture symbolizes elite performance and connects to Detroit’s car and racing culture.”
The Jaguars’ design serves as an ode to Jacksonville and Duval County. The helmet displays “Duval” on the back bumper alongside the “904” area code on the front, marking the first time in franchise history that the team will wear a teal helmet. The rest of the uniform pairs a white jersey with black pants. As stated by the team, the number font was “heavily inspired by the historic music venues and southern rock influence that Jacksonville is known for.”
The NFL Rivalries Program Schedule
The Jaguars and Lions join a growing list of teams wearing the new gear this season. All four teams in both the AFC South and NFC North have introduced new uniforms, though only the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers have worn them so far. The Colts wore theirs in a Week 3 victory against the Houston Texans, and the Packers debuted their look in a Week 5 win over the Chicago Bears, bringing teams wearing “Rivalries” uniforms to a 2-0 record this year.
The remaining 2026 “Rivalries” schedule features home teams wearing the new uniforms on the following dates:
- Week 8 (Nov. 1): Vikings at Lions, 1 p.m. ET (Fox)
- Week 8 (Nov. 1): Colts at Jaguars, 1 p.m. ET (CBS)
- Week 10 (Nov. 15): Jaguars at Titans, 1 p.m. ET (Fox)
- Week 11 (Nov. 19): Colts at Texans, 8:15 p.m. ET (Amazon)
- Week 15 (Dec. 20): Lions at Vikings, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC)
- Week 16 (Dec. 25): Packers at Bears, 1 p.m. ET (Netflix)
Each participating team will wear their “Rivalries” uniform once this season while retaining the option to keep it in their rotation for the next three years. The program launched in 2025 with the AFC East and NFC West, and it will run through 2028 until all 32 teams have debuted a new look. The rollout continues in 2027 with the AFC West and NFC East, followed by the AFC North and NFC South in 2028.
