Undefeated featherweight champion Rajabali Shaidullaev has expressed a desire to face Alexander Volkanovski following the Australian’s victory at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi. Volkanovski became the first fighter to defeat Movsar Evloev, stopping the previously unbeaten Russian in the main event on Saturday.
Shaidullaev Praises Volkanovski and Encourages Evloev
Following the bout, Shaidullaev took to social media to commend the UFC featherweight titleholder while offering words of encouragement to Evloev. The 20-0 Kyrgyz fighter praised Volkanovski’s display and stated his ambition to compete against him.
“Congrats, Volk. That was a champion’s performance,” Shaidullaev wrote on X. “An inspiration to the next generation. One fight doesn’t define a fighter. Movsar, I hope you come back even stronger. Volk looked sharp tonight. I’d love to test myself against him.”
Current Status and Upcoming Bout
Shaidullaev has built a reputation as one of the premier featherweights competing outside the UFC. He currently holds championship belts in both the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and Rizin. His most recent victory came against former Bellator champion A.J. McKee at Super Rizin 5 in September.
The undefeated fighter is scheduled to return to the ring on Dec. 31, when he meets Kyoma Akimoto at Rizin’s New Year’s Eve event in Japan.
