Max Verstappen has stated that he remains unconcerned about the Drivers’ Championship as he prepares for the upcoming race weekend. The Red Bull driver is instead focusing on understanding and resolving car and engine problems encountered during the previous event in Austin.
Addressing Technical Problems from Austin
According to Verstappen, his car suffered from minor damage and several performance limitations during the weekend in the United States. He explained that multiple factors contributed to a loss in lap time, including issues with the engine’s operation and horsepower output.
Addressing these setbacks is the primary objective for the team. Verstappen noted that resolving these mechanical and power unit imperfections should naturally improve his overall pace on the track.
Uncertainty Ahead of the New Circuit
Despite the potential for a performance boost once the issues are fixed, Verstappen emphasized that the upcoming venue presents a completely different challenge. He cautioned that it is difficult to predict whether the adjustments will be enough to immediately put him back in contention for victory.
As reported by Latest F1 News (formula1.com), the reigning world champion stressed that the team’s main priority is learning from the complications faced in Austin to ensure a more straightforward weekend.
