Jonathan Taylor’s Wife Speaks Out Amid Colts Trade Rumors

The Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline is approaching in less than two weeks, leaving Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor as one of the prominent players potentially available. Speculation intensified after the 2-5 Colts traded away key players and fired general manager Chris Ballard.

Wife Shares Anxiety on Social Media

The ongoing roster moves have unsettled Taylor’s family, prompting his wife, Ayanna, to address the trade rumors on social media. She noted that the organization already felt different following offseason departures and questioned whether anyone remaining on the roster is secure after this week’s trades.

“But now Chris Ballard gets fired, Quenton Nelson is traded, is literally anybody safe on this team?” Ayanna stated on Instagram. “I’ve never known the Colts organization without these people, and it kind of feels like rookie year all over again. So naturally, my mind is spiraling.”

Ayanna questioned whether a trading frenzy had begun, what the changes meant for her family, and whether they needed to pack their bags or spend their daughter’s first Halloween together. She also wondered if her husband had already worn a Colts jersey for the last time.

This follows previous videos where she detailed the timeline of the team’s struggles. Jonathan Taylor has no issue with her sharing her thoughts, telling reporters after a Week 7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings that her comments do not change his approach.

“I think it’s been out there already, so I think her adding [to it] doesn’t really change anything,” Taylor said, as reported by The Athletic. “You know everybody’s on TikTok these days. So, you just have to come into work and stay focused.”

Taylor’s Status and Potential Suitors

Drafted out of Wisconsin in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Taylor ranks second in franchise history with 8,185 rushing yards behind Edgerrin James, while holding the top spot with 77 rushing touchdowns. Despite the team’s overall difficulties this season, he has recorded 587 rushing yards across seven games, ranking fifth in the league, alongside a league-leading eight rushing touchdowns.

Unlike other recently traded teammates, Taylor is under contract through 2028, making him a significant asset for any contending franchise should the team decide to deal him. According to CBS Sports writer Zach Pereles, potential landing spots for the running back could include the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and New York Giants.
