Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham received his first senior England call-up alongside his brother Jude for the upcoming fixtures against Croatia and Spain.
Squad Additions and Returns
The 21-year-old Jobe Bellingham earned his selection following strong performances for Borussia Dortmund, who sit second in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich on goal difference. He moved to Germany in 2025 from Sunderland after helping the Black Cats secure promotion to the Premier League, mirroring the early career path of his older sibling.
Josh King also earned a maiden selection following impressive displays for Fulham, while Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Ben White both returned to the national setup.
Notable Omissions and Upcoming Matches
The primary exclusions from the roster are Cole Palmer and Phil Foden. Palmer previously withdrew from the previous England squad, prompting Thomas Tuchel to state that the Chelsea star misses too many opportunities to play for his country. Palmer has earned 14 caps for the Three Lions and recorded three goals and three assists across nine appearances for Chelsea this term. Meanwhile, Foden has not featured for England since March.
England will finish their Nations League campaign with matches against Croatia and Spain, with Tuchel’s side holding second place in Group C. Croatia travel to Wembley next Thursday before England travel to Madrid the following Sunday. Avoiding defeat against Croatia will guarantee England a spot in the quarter-finals, whereas winning both fixtures and surpassing Spain’s goal difference is required to finish at the top of the group.
