Former Sabres Goalie Reimer Placed on Waivers by Rangers

A former Buffalo Sabres goaltender is available on the waiver wire after being placed on waivers by the New York Rangers, as reported by The Associated Press’ Stephen Whyno.

Short Stint with the Rangers

James Reimer signed a one-year contract with the Rangers late last month. However, less than two weeks after joining the team, he has already been placed on waivers.

The roster move comes as Rangers goalie Joonas Korpisalo nears his return from injury.

Reimer made a single appearance for the Rangers on October 26 against the Los Angeles Kings. The outing proved difficult as he allowed three goals on only eight shots in the first period before being pulled by the Blueshirts.

Previous Tenure with the Sabres

Reimer played in 22 games for the Sabres during the 2024-25 season. Across those appearances, he registered a 10-8-2 record along with a .901 save percentage and a 2.90 goals-against average.

That campaign marked Reimer’s sole season with Buffalo, as the organization chose not to bring him back during the 2025 off-season.
