Dominick Reyes Slams Daniel Cormier Over UFC 333 Bias

Dominick Reyes expressed severe frustration toward Daniel Cormier following his victory over Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 333, accusing the former champion of biased commentary and disrespect. Reyes took to social media to call out Cormier, questioning his broadcasting credentials and taking issue with being addressed as “kid.”

Reyes Attacks Cormier Over Commentary and Bias

According to Recent News on Sherdog.com, Reyes did not hold back in his assessment of Cormier’s analysis during the event. Reyes stated that he is tired of acting like the nice guy while clowns disrespect and marginalize his achievements in the sport. He targeted Cormier directly regarding his fight analysis, writing on social media, “Real talk, who actually likes hearing low iq hater ass DC? Sick of being the nice guy while these clowns flat out disrespect and marginalize what I’ve done in this sport. These so called ‘experts’. And no Jon Jones didn’t whoop all of us, he whooped you! Bad! Multiple times. Kid.”

Reyes further rejected Cormier’s nickname usage and pointed to an exchange involving broadcast partner Paul Felder. “My name is Dominick not Kid. Yeah I heard your commentary tonight on my fight. How about the part where Paul called you out for your clear bias? And what did you do? You laughed about it,” Reyes stated. He also criticized Cormier’s lack of research and knowledge during broadcasts, noting that biased expert commentary sways average fans and profoundly impacts fighters’ lives. Additionally, Reyes called out what he perceived as a clear bias toward fighters from the Caucasus region.

Cormier Responds to the Accusations

Daniel Cormier quickly replied to the accusations on social media, urging the light heavyweight fighter to calm down and clarifying his intentions. Cormier maintained that he has never used the term “kid” in a derogatory manner and only speaks the truth about performances. Cormier responded, “Yo dom chill. I don’t call you kid negatively. I’ve only spoke truth to you. When you do some amazing shit like you did today I praise you. If you do something like the last fight with Johnny, I speak The Truth about that too.”

Addressing Reyes’s remarks about accessibility and communication, Cormier noted that he is easy to reach and suggested the grievances stem from lingering resentment. Cormier concluded, “But these comments seem like you’ve been carrying something with you for a while. You can always talk to me. I’m not very hard to find.”

Reyes disputed Cormier’s claim regarding accessibility, stating he has never encountered him outside of the immediate cage area during fight nights.
