Alexander Volkanovski open to fighting Arman Tsarukyan

Former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has expressed his willingness to challenge Arman Tsarukyan for a UFC title opportunity in the lightweight division.

Challenging the Top Contender

According to Recent News on Sherdog.com, Volkanovski stated that he would gladly step up to fight Tsarukyan for the championship belt if the division’s title landscape opens up and other contenders decline the matchup. “If I was champion at lightweight, I’m fighting Arman. 100%. If Gaethje doesn’t wanna do that, I’ll do it. Me versus Arman for the belt. That excites me,” Volkanovski said.

Confidence Against Elite Grapplers

Volkanovski expressed immense respect for Tsarukyan’s skill set, acknowledging him as one of the premier wrestlers and grapplers currently competing in the organization. However, the veteran fighter remains deeply confident in his own defensive grappling capabilities and his ability to neutralize top-tier wrestling pressure inside the Octagon.

“Everyone knows how I do against wrestlers. Everyone knows I can handle wrestlers. I think he’s one of the best wrestlers and grapplers in the UFC, but you ain’t holding me down. I’ve got so much respect for him, but I’m getting back up, and we’re standing and fighting. He’s got good stand-up too, so that’ll be a fun fight. I think we’re starting to figure some shit out,” Volkanovski explained.
