Israel Adesanya and Ian Machado Garry Head to UFC Saudi Arabia

Two five-round matchups have been officially announced for the upcoming Ultimate Fighting Championship event in Saudi Arabia. The promotion revealed the fights during Saturday’s UFC Vegas 124 broadcast.

Main Event and Middleweight Clash

Former two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will headline UFC Saudi Arabia against Shara Magomedov. The event is scheduled for Dec. 5 at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.

Adesanya enters the matchup attempting to break a four-fight skid. He dropped the middleweight belt to Sean Strickland in September 2023 at UFC 293 and has not secured a victory since, suffering stoppage losses against Dricus du Plessis, Nassourdine Imavov, and Joe Pyfer.

Magomedov holds a 6-1 record under the promotion, coming off consecutive victories over Michel Pereira and Marc-Andre Barriault. The sole defeat for Magomedov occurred against Michael Page via a lopsided decision at the previous UFC Saudi Arabia event in February 2025.

Co-Main Event and Additional Card Bouts

The co-main event will also span five rounds, featuring recent welterweight title challenger Ian Machado Garry. Garry returns to action for the first time since his defeat against Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 in August, taking on former Bellator champion Yaroslav Amosov.

The remainder of the main card features a heavyweight contest between Serghei Spivac and Mario Pinto, a welterweight meeting of Levan Chokheli and Islam Dulatov, a lightweight bout pitting Mairon Santos against Akbar Abdullaev, and a light heavyweight matchup between Ion Cutelaba and Magomed Tuchalov.
