Eagles’ Sirianni Rules Out QB, OC Changes After 6th Loss

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that he will not make changes to his coaching staff or starting quarterback despite the team suffering a six-game losing streak. Following Sunday’s 27-10 defeat to the Washington Commanders, Sirianni stated that offensive coordinator Sean Mannion and quarterback Tanner McKee will retain their positions.

Commitment to Leadership and Quarterback

“I’m not making any changes there,” Sirianni told reporters when asked about his coaching staff. “It is on all of us to figure out how to get things going in the right direction. Obviously, right now they’re not. But again, this is the ultimate team game and we’re in the problem-solving business. Right now, we have to find answers to help us get going offensively. Again, that brunt falls on myself, that falls on Sean, and we’re going to do everything we can to get ourselves out of this.”

Philadelphia has not won a game since Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. The team’s offensive struggles coincide with the loss of franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was ruled out for the remainder of the season due to blood clots. In his place, McKee has taken over under center.

In the loss to Washington, McKee completed 23 of 34 passes for 212 yards and an interception. Selected in the sixth round of the 2023 draft, McKee has recorded 638 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions across three games this season.

“Tanner’s our guy. We’re not making any changes there,” Sirianni said. “Again, how do we find solutions? That could be within scheme, that could be within how our schedule is, practice plays. Everything’s on the table for us in that aspect. But right now, this is where we are and we’re trying to find solutions there. We’re looking at everything as far as what we can do differently as coaches.”

Roster Options and Offensive Struggles

Behind McKee, the Eagles carry Joe Milton, who was signed off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. Milton, a 2024 sixth-round pick, threw for 183 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while serving as Dak Prescott’s backup last season. Philadelphia also has rookie fifth-round draft pick Cole Payton on the roster, though he has not yet appeared in an NFL game.

Mannion retired from playing in 2023 before serving on the Green Bay Packers’ staff during the 2024 and 2025 seasons as an offensive assistant and quarterbacks coach. This season represents his first role as an offensive coordinator, where he has dealt with significant roster injuries.

The Eagles currently rank last in the NFL in total offense with 265.3 yards per game and 30th in scoring offense at 17.1 points per game. Sirianni indicated that the coaching staff will examine internal adjustments to practice schedules and play schemes to improve offensive production.
