Kelani Jordan Defeats Wren Sinclair at NXT Halloween Havoc

Kelani Jordan defeated Wren Sinclair at the NXT Halloween Havoc event on Saturday night to successfully retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

Championship Background and Rivalry

Jordan secured the NXT women’s title for the first time at Heatwave in August by defeating Kendal Grey after years of pursuit. Following that title change, Sinclair launched an assault on Jordan to avenge Grey, who sustained an injury during her championship defeat.

During the attack, Sinclair inadvertently struck a referee in the face, prompting NXT general manager Robert Stone to issue an indefinite suspension against her. Jordan subsequently defended her title against Jaida Parker during Sinclair’s suspension, eventually claiming that no other woman in the locker room could defeat her for the championship.

The Road to Halloween Havoc

To establish the next challenger, Stone scheduled a 20-woman battle royal for the Oct. 6 episode of NXT. AAA luchadora Lady Shani appeared to win the match after last eliminating Kali Armstrong.

Upon removing her mask, however, the victor was revealed to be Sinclair impersonating Shani, meaning she won despite her active suspension. Although the legitimacy of the victory faced questions, Stone chose to validate the outcome and officially declare Sinclair the top contender, setting up Saturday’s championship match.
