The Milwaukee Brewers secured their first World Series title in franchise history after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5 on Wednesday night. Following the historic victory, the City of Milwaukee announced plans to host a championship celebration for the team.
Parade and Rally Details
The championship parade and rally are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30, starting at 10 a.m. CST. The free public event begins at North 4th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Milwaukee and concludes at Henry Maier Festival Park.
For viewers unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast nationally on MLB Network, MLB.tv, Brewers.tv, and Brewers.com, and locally on CBS 58 starting at 9 a.m. CST.
Championship Rally and School Closures
The rally at Henry Maier Festival Park opens its gates at 8 a.m. and features live music, food and beverages, merchandise, and large video screens broadcasting the parade live. The first 50,000 fans arriving at the rally will receive a limited-edition championship rally towel, and various Brewers alumni are scheduled to attend.
Additionally, Milwaukee Public Schools announced that all students and staff will have the day off on Friday to participate in the festivities.
Supporters of the franchise have waited 57 years for a championship event, which follows a season and playoff run marked by strong fan turnout, including a heavy presence at Tropicana Field during Game 5.
