Halloween weekend brings a slate of NFL Week 8 matchups, highlighted by the Buffalo Bills facing the Baltimore Reactors and the Cleveland Steelers rivalry. CBS Sports provides game previews, key statistics, and score predictions for the upcoming slate.
Ravens vs. Bills
Entering Week 8, the Buffalo Bills hold a 5-1 record, but their major weakness lies in a defense allowing 28.5 points per game, the third-most in the league. The Bills are also surrendering 285.8 passing yards per contest, ranking second-highest in the NFL. Despite defensive struggles, quarterback Josh Allen consistently rescues the team, going 4-0 in games where Buffalo surrenders at least 30 points. On the other side, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed the last three games with an ankle injury sustained in Week 4, though he recently returned to practice. CBS Sports predicts a 34-31 victory for the Bills if Jackson plays, or 34-24 if he remains out.
Vikings vs. Lions
The Minnesota Vikings stand as the NFL’s last undefeated team at 6-0 despite scoring just 10 offensive touchdowns this season, the fewest by a 6-0 team since 1934. Kicker Will Reichard has scored 63 points, more than every other Viking player combined at 62. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores has fueled the team’s success by implementing an aggressive blitz rate exceeding 70 percent, including an 85.2 percent rate against the Colts. However, Minnesota faces a difficult upcoming schedule starting with the Detroit Lions. CBS Sports predicts a narrow 19-16 victory for the Vikings.
Browns vs. Steelers
The Cleveland Browns travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers with a chance to secure their first season sweep of their division rival since 1988. Cleveland enters the matchup at 5-2, though all five of their wins have been decided by four points or fewer, including three consecutive victories secured by a field goal in the final 10 seconds. The Steelers have experienced an unpredictable season offensively, though running back Jaylen Warren has surpassed 100 rushing yards in three of Pittsburgh’s last five games. CBS Sports predicts a 23-20 win for the Browns.
Chiefs vs. Broncos
The Kansas City Chiefs travel to face the Denver Broncos following a Week 7 performance where Denver quarterback Bo Nix rushed for a 62-yard touchdown, the longest run by a quarterback in franchise history. Since drafting Nix in 2024, the Broncos hold a 12-0 record when rushing for at least 125 yards. Meanwhile, the Chiefs look to rebound after the Seattle Seahawks shut down their run game in Week 7. CBS Sports predicts a 20-16 victory for the Chiefs.
Bears vs. Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks host the Chicago Bears on Monday night holding a five-game home primetime winning streak, winning those matchups by an average of 12.8 points. The Seahawks defense held the Chiefs in check during Week 7, but now faces the league’s top rushing attack in the Bears, who average 154.3 ground yards per game under Ben Johnson. CBS Sports predicts a 27-20 win for the Seahawks.
Other Week 8 predictions include the Packers defeating the Panthers 30-23, the Bengals beating the Titans 24-17, the Cowboys topping the Cardinals 27-23, and the Commanders defeating the Eagles 23-16.
