Lawson Excited for More F1 Action After Austin Points Finish

Liam Lawson is eager to continue racing in the upcoming triple-header rounds after securing another points finish at the United States Grand Prix. The New Zealander delivered a strong performance at the Circuit of The Americas to bring his Racing Bulls car home in ninth place.

Solid Austin Weekend Strengthens Team Standings

Starting from ninth on the grid behind the leading Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari, and McLaren drivers, Lawson maintained his position throughout the race. As reported by Formula1.com, he praised the team’s execution over the weekend, noting that ninth or tenth is currently the maximum possible result when all front-running cars finish. The solid points haul further strengthens Racing Bulls’ hold on fifth place in the Teams’ Championship.

Lawson expressed satisfaction with his personal consistency and the handling of his car. He stated that he enjoyed driving the machine and feels excited to tackle upcoming unique tracks, highlighting the high altitude of Mexico and the bumpy nature of Brazil as the championship heads into the next events.

Challenging Afternoon for Arvid Lindblad

On the opposite side of the garage, teammate Arvid Lindblad faced a tougher Sunday after receiving a five-place grid penalty for using additional power unit elements, which dropped him to 14th on the grid. The British driver ultimately crossed the finish line in 12th place.

Lindblad noted that his first lap did not go as planned after traffic bottlenecked his progress down the inside. He experienced a difficult opening stint and a compromised race after an early pit stop for medium tires placed him in traffic behind Pierre Gasly, costing him valuable time.

Reflecting on his strategy, Lindblad mentioned he appeared to be the only driver attempting a two-stop strategy that ultimately did not pay off. Despite the difficult afternoon, he felt positive about his improved comfort in the car, stating that the Grand Prix featured some of the best feelings he has experienced behind the wheel all season.

The team will analyze the data from both cars to prepare for the upcoming rounds of the triple-header.
