Former Canadian tennis star Genie Bouchard captured attention across social media by sharing her Halloween costume inspired by Britney Spears. The retired athlete recreated Spears’ iconic 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance look.
Recreating an Iconic Look
Bouchard completed her outfit with a python, mirroring the famous stage performance, though her version featured a fake snake rather than a live one. She joins fellow former tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, who recently unveiled a Taylor Swift-inspired couples costume alongside David Lee.
Bouchard was not the only prominent figure to channel the pop star this holiday season, as Paris Hilton also opted for a 2001 Spears costume.
Post-Tennis Career and Achievements
Following her departure from the WTA Tour in 2025, Bouchard transitioned to the PPA Tour to play pickleball while also establishing a broadcasting career. She provided commentary for TNT and ESPN during the French Open and the US Open, earning praise alongside Andy Roddick for her work at Flushing Meadows.
During her professional tennis career, the 32-year-old reached a career-high ranking of World No. 5 and advanced to the 2014 Wimbledon singles final against Petra Kvitova. Despite struggling with injuries during her time on the tour, Bouchard has found continued success in broadcasting and new sporting ventures.
