Braves Re-sign Utilityman Vidal Bruján to MiLB Deal

The Atlanta Braves have brought utilityman Vidal Bruján back to the organization by signing him to a minor league contract, according to the team’s transaction page. Bruján, who is 28 years old, previously spent a portion of the 2025 season within the Atlanta organization.

Adding Versatility and Infield Depth

This roster move provides the team with valuable versatility across multiple positions. Bruján brings major league experience playing at second base, shortstop, third base, and all three outfield positions. Since making his debut in 2021, he has logged appearances in 271 MLB games, though he was limited to just nine contests with the New York Metropolitans last season.

Offensively, Bruján has struggled to make a major impact, showing limited power and a career stolen base success rate sitting just above 50 percent in the majors, accompanied by a career 53 wRC+. Despite his offensive limitations, the Braves entered the offseason facing a significant lack of depth in the middle infield. Aside from Ozzie Albies, whose team option was exercised, Jim Jarvis is the only other middle infielder currently under contract for the 2026 team.

Career Journey Through Multiple Teams

Bruján originally made his major league debut with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he spent his first three seasons. Since 2024, his career has taken him through five different professional organizations, including his previous stint with the Braves.
