Carlos Alcaraz has been named to Spain’s squad for the upcoming Davis Cup Final 8, marking his return to the national team competition after a two-year absence. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Bologna, Italy, from November 24 to 29.
Top Players Return for National Squads
Alexander Zverev, who is set to claim the world No. 1 ranking prior to the event, will lead the German team following Monday’s official squad announcements. Meanwhile, defending champion Italy will participate without the injured Jannik Sinner, fielding a lineup spearheaded by French Open runner-up Flavio Cobolli.
For Alcaraz, the Davis Cup remains one of the few major accolades missing from his impressive career resume, which earlier this year included capturing the Australian Open title to become the youngest man to complete a career Grand Slam. Led by captain David Ferrer, the Spanish roster also includes top-15 players Rafael Jodar at No. 11 and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at No. 15, alongside Pedro Martinez and Marcel Granollers.
Quarterfinal Matchups and Team Rosters
In the opening round of the tournament, Spain is scheduled to face Austria, while Germany will go up against a British side led by Wimbledon semifinalist Arthur Fery.
