Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker kept his annual Halloween tradition alive on Friday by arriving at practice in costume, but the session gained widespread viral attention as he fielded questions about his future with the franchise while fully dressed up.
Addressing Trade Rumors
As the NFL trade deadline approaches, reporters questioned the safety about potential trade speculation surrounding his position with the team. Baker kept his response focused entirely on the immediate task ahead.
“I just live in the present,” Baker responded. “You know, look like today, having a great time with you guys, and gonna have a great Friday practice and just focus on playing against the Dallas Cowboys and trying to get a W at their stadium.”
Franchise Veteran Status
The trade speculation comes as Arizona sits at a 2-5 record on the season. Teams in struggling positions often consider trading established veterans for future draft assets ahead of the league deadline, which is set for November 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
Baker is in his 10th NFL season, having spent his entire professional career with Arizona. During his tenure, he has earned eight Pro Bowl selections—including seven consecutive selections—and has been named an All-Pro twice.
This is not the first time rumors have circulated regarding Baker’s tenure in Arizona. He previously requested a trade in 2023 before subsequently signing a lucrative contract extension to remain with the team, meaning any trade before the deadline would likely require a substantial offer from an acquiring team.
